Opinion: Super Mario RPG Original Sound Version: CD1 1/2

Sun, Nov 30 | solarblade (WordPress)
5. Fight Against Bowser Yea, yea, it’s the invincible song played again.  Funny that it sounds like Super Mario Galaxy’s version of it which is a great nod right?  Shockingly, this actually isn’t played a lot, as the item isn’t available as much as let’s say SMW…or mainly the others.

Confirmed - Tommy Tallarico working on Sonic and the Black Knight, wants to work on Mario

Link “I’ve always loved the Sonic franchise, and just a couple of months ago Sega Japan contacted me to write three songs for the new Sonic game. It was kind of an honour to be contacted by those folks. A lot of my dreams have come true - I worked on the Pacman franchise, [...]

It wasn’t easy to argue that 2008 was better than 2007 or 2001

How, after all does a year ending in “Wii Music,” “Fallout 3,” and “Gears of War 2” compete for gaming greatness with years that concluded with “BioShock,” “Super Mario Galaxy,” “Portal” or “Grand Theft Auto III,” “Metal Gear Solid 2” and “Ico“? How, after all does a year ending in “Wii Mus...

Sonic Unleashed Review

As someone who's closely followed the bizarre, often tragic trajectory that Sonic the Hedgehog's mascot career has taken, I approach each successive Sonic release with a heart full of dread. With his edgy, art-deco Sega Genesis glory days now long behind him, Sonic's recent platformin...

Nintendo: We Will Have Games In 2009 For The ‘Halo’ Crowd

Thumbnail Nintendo has moms and Mario/Zelda fans locked up. But, since the Wii launched in 2006, the company has had a hard time attracting the hardcore gamers who enjoy things like “Halo,” “BioShock” or “Call of Duty.” Nintendo itself, former publisher of “GoldenEye,” hasn’t even made a game for th...

Wii Music Review: Jam With The Bland

Thumbnail Nintendo has created a piece of software that has brief flashes of fun, but little in the way of long-term enjoyment. In group settings, it will likely entertain for its impossible-to-fail gameplay and the resulting cacophony. Outside of morbid (or genuine) curiosity, it's hard to recom...

Mario Kart Wii Review: I'm Not Angry, Just Disappointed

Thumbnail Fun fact: I'm a total Mario Kart fanboy. For the record: Double Dash is my favourite (I know, I know). So I'm used to watching the Mario Kart series take small, baby-steps forward with each new version. In this case, I was expecting just that. Small steps forward. Mario Kart Wii, however, feels mo...

Nintendo Wii Review: Mario Strikers Charged

The fact that the Wii has been getting so many ports has been a sore spot for many Wii owners, even though games like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Battalion Wars 2, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Wii Review: Mario Strikers Charged

Thumbnail Many of the significant issues with Mario Strikers Charged lie with Super Mario Strikers on the Gamecube. Out of the Mario sports games, this is the least compelling, fun, and inventive. GAME: Review: Mario Party 8 for Wii

Graphically and sound-wise, it's about what you'd expect. All your favorites--Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, etc--look a little better than in the past, but not much better than on other Wii games. Meanwhile, the characters keep their ageless sound effects.
