Reports are coming in from angry PC gamers that Mass Effect is limited to just 3 activations before you can no longer play. Even worse than that, uninstalling the game doesn’t give you an activation back. Unfortunately, you will not gain an activation by uninstalling the game.

That same anti-piracy protection was used on BioShock by 2K and caused a number of problems for gamers. BioWare have pointed out that the same system has also been used on Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire without issues.
The game just feels very unfinished all around, which is in stark contrast to most of the amazing titles Microsoft has put out in the past year (Mass Effect, Halo 3, etc.) and will put out in the future (Gears of War, Fable 2, etc). In this case, I’ll blame developer BLUESIDE.
After receiving excellent review scores pretty much across all publications, the Xbox 360 release of Mass Effect was a success for BioWare. The good news is that success has a chance to repeat itself, as the game is now confirmed for release on PC.
