Posted in Blizzard, entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: Companion Pets, Pandas, RMT Where is Darren when we need him? Surely this will bring him back for another post! Yes, Blizzard has turned that corner at last and is now selling in-game items for real life money. No more buying tr...
Fortunately, as we learned at Brewfest, the instance servers run on Pacific Time, so they are late to start and late to end when it comes to Azeroth holidays. 73 Druid – Nerral 80 Priest – Skronk 80 Warlock – Bungholio 80 Warrior – Earlthecat 80 Paladin – Vikund But in the end, no mount.
And I stared logging into World of Warcraft again to get things lined up for the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion. I managed to survive through the controversial scourge event and was intrigued by these shiny new achievements. Dungeons & Dragons Online World of Warcraft
Then, one afternoon I was in the Alterac Valley battleground. I was just shy of the honor points I needed to buy something new. And as we say waiting for the battle to start somebody said, “Anybody have the ninja wand? I need it for the achievement.”
Posted in Dungeons & Dragons Online, entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: DDO, DDO Store, Guild Creation, Micropayments, RMT One of the game annoyances I could do without is guild creation. When we rolled up on Lightninghoof in WoW, we had to go through the same old routine, gett...

Posted in entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: Hallow's End I only noticed recently that the Weighted Jack-o’-Lanterns that you can throw at people to give them a pumpkin head actually travel at the same speed as an epic ground mount in World of Warcraft. Of course, there is an achieve...
Posted in Blizzard, entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: Gold Sellers Buying gold makes baby murlocs cry. So said Blizzard today on the US World of Warcraft site. And if that isn’t enough to dissuade you, they have also put up a page listing out the issues that come up that are directly fu...
Posted in Blizzard, entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: BlizzCon I received a letter from DirecTV the other day. Enclosed in the envelop was something I had been waiting for. A card. The Grunty the Murloc Marine loot card from BlizzCon, a reward for subscribing to watch the event on p...
I’ve been down with the flu for much of the last seven days so haven’t been keeping tabs on the gaming blogs as much as usual, but it seems that more than a few people have been getting themselves into a huff over the security implications of Blizzard making people merge their World of Warcraf...
Posted in entertainment, Instance Group, World of Warcraft I have mentioned more than a few times with the imminent end of five person content at hand in World of Warcraft, we have been slowly trying to build some consensus for the “next” thing for the instance group to try. Sure, there are t...
Posted in entertainment, Instance Group, World of Warcraft Tagged: Brewfest, Culling of Stratholme It was Saturday night and we had killed Coren Direbrew for the 21st and final time during Brewfest. Since by that point killing Coren was a quick and well rehearsed process, we had plenty o...
Posted in entertainment, Instance Group, World of Warcraft Tagged: Brewfest, Coren Direbrew, Hallow's End Brewfest has passed in Azeroth. The tents have been folded. The spilled beer and goat droppings have been cleaned up. The vendors have gone back to their respective breweries. Perh...
Posted in entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: PvP As I wrote the post on the Figure Prints pet offerings, I logged on Vikund to see if I had some that were less viable to be cast in resin and placed on my desk. I was able to come up with three pretty easily. But as I was flipping through my comp...
Posted in Blizzard, entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: Figure Prints Okay, maybe not the WORST pets ever. I suppose they could have picked the cockroach, the tree frog, and the giant sewer rat from the list of WoW companion pets. Still, after the first round of companion pet figures f...

World of Warcraft has another in-game holiday going on this week. It is called Noblegarden. It is essentially Easter without Christ involved in any way, so only slightly different than Easter for a lot of people. But resurrection isn’t such a big deal on Azeroth, where nothing really die...
I was at Fry’s the other day looking for, among other things, a copy of The Burning Crusade expansion for World of Warcraft for my daughter’s account. She decided she likes blood elves during the 10 day trial of the expansion. But no Burning Crusade.
Posted in entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: ATi, ATi 4850 When I bought my new ASUS made ATi 4850 video card and the last thing I expected was to have problems with World of Warcraft. I was worried that Lord of the Rings Online would overheat it, but I seem okay there. I was worried that th...

World of Warcraft And, of course, tune in tomorrow for my predictions for 2009. I’d better start working on them! Posted in Blizzard, Diablo III, DS, entertainment, EVE Online, EverQuest, EverQuest II, Lord of the Rings Online, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Sony Online Entertainment, Wa...
Anyway, still hours to go before I can get home and install it. I’ve heard that there are some non-functional disks out there. (Earl seems to have gotten one.) We’ll see if I am on that list. Posted in entertainment, World of Warcraft Tagged: Wrath of the Lich King As was the case with the...
In line with trying for some fresh experiences in my return to EverQuest II I mentioned starting out on the Freeport side of the world. Unlike World of Warcraft, this does not mean a complete sundering from all thing Qeynosian. While relations between Antonia Bayle and Lucan D’Lere might...
And speaking of the 3.0.2 update, I really like the changes that were made to the hunter class. It has always been my favorite solo class in WoW and maybe my favorite class overall in any MMO, though my fae swashbuckler in EQ2 has plenty going for it.
I have yet to make it into a raid instance, so all of that content is off my list, but I haven’t actually tried to get into that either. Posted in entertainment, World of Warcraft Tistann, my hunter in World of Warcraft finally hit 70, just a couple weeks shy of the impending Wrath of the...

I have not done much when it comes to the battlegrounds in World of Warcraft. I went with Tistann. Being a paladin, and range weapon deprived, in a battleground did not sound like fun. Ouch. Ah, time to mount up! The last time I played a battleground, I had no mount.
A little over a year ago I wrote up my vision of the as then unannounced EverQuest II expansion. So I am going to put down my guesses for the next EverQuest II expansion again. Tell me how I am wrong. Tell me what you think the next expansion will be.
Some time back Blizzard introduced an addition to their website called The Armory. It is linked off of the main World of Warcraft site and allows you to see all sorts of details about your character. You can see the view from my main character, Vikund, here:
One of the nice things about moving to a new machine is that you get to install some of your software from scratch. I resisted the temptation to make the first entry “World of Warcraft.” SOE is unlikely to use that name and there could be other implications if they claim to be using the WoW keyboa...
We started rounding up quests lines and such for Blackrock Depths almost immediately after we finished up Sunken Temple a couple of weeks back. Thanks to World of Warcraft patch 2.3, the process of running down some of these quest chains gave us a pretty decent boost to our levels. So we starte...
