Review: NHL 2K10 (Xbox360)

Thumbnail I honestly don’t “get” ice hockey at all. I don’t understand the rules, and I don’t understand why there are three periods instead of two halves or four quarters. I also don’t see why there is such an emphasis on fighting (apart from the obvious draw factor this brings for a certain subculture...

Race Pro Review (Xbox 360)

Thumbnail Race Pro feels like a game from another time, specifically a few years ago and with a limited release on the PC. Halo Wars Review (Xbox 360)

Thumbnail The challenge with RTS games on console platforms comes in when one has to micro-manage units. A task easily handled on the PC with a mouse can be the Achilles heel when poorly implemented with a console controller. Interestingly Microsoft was approached to use the Halo IP after research ha...

Review: Naruto: The Broken Bond (Xbox360)

Thumbnail When Ubisoft released Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for the Xbox 360 in 2007, it was a pleasant and welcome surprise. Rise of a Ninja was the first Naruto game to really venture beyond the borders of the fighting genre, and instead provided a light but engaging action-adventure experience that st...

Review: Test Drive Unlimited (Xbox360)

The controls work pretty much the same as any other racing game on the Xbox 360 but the D-Pad adds a feature that no other racer has ever achieved – the best map created by man! You need to understand that the map you’re driving on is gigantic. By pressing ‘right’ on the D-Pad, at any time in the game, it zooms out so you can see where you are on the map. Zoom it out again and you can see Hawaii in all its glory. Zooming out is necessary as events are categorised for each car class and scrolling the map to find the next event is much easier. When finding an event select it with the “A” button and it will then calculate it for you and set up the navigation system in your car. This is another feature that is done so well! You have a narrator telling you to turn left or rig...
